vTip #22 - Creating a Customized Subject Message for your "RTF" emails

Why create a customized "Subject Line Message"?

When sending InterActive vForms and using an "RTF" automated message, creating a personal custom subject line message will further enhance your email and personalize this message to your targeted recipient. This is extremely beneficial when you run an email marketing campaign using the Professional Edition vForms software. Using the RTF capabilities in vForms, you can create, run, and operate an email marketing campaign to your contacts. You can also send these emails with attached marketing flyers, or other email attached files.

Create this personalized email subject line message by using the following steps:

Review vTips 14 and 15 on editing and creating new RTF automated email messages.

  1. Right click your mouse on the selected "RTF" file in your vForms library.
  2. Left click on "Edit Document".
  3. This file will open and appear on your computer monitor including the "vForms Field List" to the left of your word document. Make the word file smaller so you can see the "vForms Field List" and the letter on your monitor screen.
  4. Click on "File", "Properties". The "Editing RTF Properties" screen will appear.
  5. Under the "Summary" tab, click in the "Comments" box located at the bottom of the screen.
  6. Type your personalized message in the comment section (i.e., Lower interest rates are now available).

Note: You can also further personalize this message by typing one of the "vForms Field Listing" headings into this message such as <Contact First Name>, "Lower interest rates are now available" which will draw the first name of your borrowers or contacts into this message.

  1. After you have completed your personalized message in the comments section, click "OK".

Note: If you have selected multiple contacts to send this personalized RTF email, each of the borrowers or contacts first names will appear in the message of your email. In this way, you can send 50, 100 or more emails by using this technique and the Professional Edition of vForms.

  1. Save your changes by clicking on "File", "Save". Close out your word file by clicking on the "X" in the top right hand corner of the file and then close out the "vForms Field Listing" screen.
  2. vForms will open again and you will be prompted to replace the RTF, click on Yes.
