vTip #3 Installing and programming the vForms Printer

WHY INSTALL THE vFORMS PRINT DRIVER?

This will allow you to email any form or document using vForms. Many of our vForm users asked us to create a system that will allow them to email completed documents from their LOS systems such as a Good Faith, TIL, 1003, or other documents and disclosures along with other vForms to their lenders or customers. Our new FREE email any form using our current version of InterActive vForms.

NEW vFORMS PDF PRINT DRIVER FOR InterActive vFORMS:

To install this Print Driver, perform the following steps:

STEP ONE: Print the vForms User Guide from our website and update your current version of InterActive vForms:

  1. Open vForms by clicking on the vForms icon on your desktop computer.
  2. Click on "Help".
  3. Click on "Check for Updates".
  4. Select "Yes" to Check for Library Updates and follow the prompts.
  5. Select "Yes" to Check for Program Updates and after your vForms has been upgraded, click on the icon and open vForms.

STEP TWO: Installation - Select your operating system below and follow the instructions:

For Windows 95/98/ME Operating Systems:

  1. Click "Start", select "Setting", select "Control Panel".
  2. Click "Add Printer" icon.
  3. Click "Local Printer".
  4. When the new printer type is requested: Choose "Have Disk".
  5. Browse to the directory (C:\ProgramFiles\vLoanPort\vForms) and click on the vPrinterForms.INF file and accept this.
  6. Choose the LPT1 Port or a Null Port to connect the printer.
  7. Choose "NO" to using this printer as the default.
  8. Choose "NO" to print a test page.
  9. If given the option for output type, DO NOT choose "Print to File".
  10. Right click the top mouse button on your vForms Icon and select "Properties".
  11. Select "Graphics", change the resolution to 300 DPI, click on the "Color" box and then select "Print in Black and White Only" and click on "OK".
  12. Select "Line Art", click on the "Paper Tab" and select "Legal", select "Apply" and then "OK" and close the "Printers Box Screen".
  13. You are now ready to use the new vForms vPrinter Driver from any Windows 95/98 application.

For: Windows 2000/XP Operating Systems:

  1. Click Start, Setting, Printers.
  2. Double click Add Printer. The Add Printer Wizard will start.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Select Local Printer, then click Next.
  5. Select Create a new port: Type: Local Port, then click Next.
  6. On the enter a port name window type null, then click OK.
  7. Click the Have Disk button.
  8. Click the Browse button.
  9. Browse to the folder c:\Program Files\vLoanPort\vForms.
  10. Click on vFormsPrinter.inf, then click Open.
  11. Click Next.
  12. Leave the name as the vForms Printer and make sure that it is checked to not use the vForms Printer as your default printer. Click Next.
  13. Leave it set at the default to not share the printer, then click Next.
  14. Select No to print a test page, then click Next.
  15. Click Finish.
  16. Right click on the new vForms Printer icon in the printer window. Click on Properties.
  17. Click Advanced, then Printing Defaults, then Advanced.
  18. Select Legal Paper, change the graphics to 300 x 300 DPI and click on OK.
  19. Click OK to close the Printers Box Screen.
